I’ve been watching F1, A1, and GP500 for the past 6 to 7 years on TV. It never even crossed my mind that one day I might get a chance to be in a real paddock and pit area!!!

This car racer, Moreno Soeprapto, has become our client in the last 5 months. My fellow front desk staff adores him so much, and went crazy every time he comes to our office. In the meantime, I never saw anything really special in him, until the day he sent us 6 free passes to see him racing!! I was so excited cos it’d be the 1st time for me to watch a real car race in a circuit!

Sentul International Circuit, July 23rd 2006. I was so surprised and amazed by the fact that the free passes would get us ALL ACCESS!! We got right into the paddock area and Moreno’s pit!! I was extremely excited when I finally REALLY got the chance to see the cool cars, the mechanics, the other teams (which were from various countries cos it was quite a big international car race event), the tools, the atmosphere, the starting grid, etc, ALL up-close and personal!! OH MY GOSH!! How could I ever thank Moreno for all that?!!  I can’t blame my fellow front desk staff going crazy over him cos I realized now that he’s the nicest, greatest, coolest, kindest Indonesian celebrity EVER!!

Someone in Moreno’s pit even gave my boss’ family and me a couple of sticker passes to have breakfast and lunch in the VIP Guests luxurious tent! That was too cool!!

MORENO ROCK!!! For sure…

unforgetable views 

Pulang dari Gereja hari minggu yang lalu (7/8/05) gue nyetir mobil jip HILINE nenek gue. Waktu sampe di jalan kecil 1 arah (JL.Hang Jebat), mendadak koplingnya patah!!

Gue panik banget! Karena tu mobil jadi mogok di tengah-tengah jalan. As I said before, jalannya kecil, gue mogok di tengah, jadi ga ada mobil yang muat nyalip mobil gue yang gede. Alhasil gue bikin macet. Antrian panjaaaang di belakang.   

Penumpang gue yang antara lain: nenek gue (77th), nyokap gue (50th), tante gue (48th), ade gue (cewek 18th), dan sepupu gue (cowok 13th) langsung turun dan ngedorong mobil sekuat tenaga. Saat mobil didorong gue denger alunan berisik klakson mobil-mobil di belakang yang ngga sabar. Yang paling kenceng klakson mobil yang tepat di belakang mobil gue, XTRAIL item yang isinya cowok-cowok. Bahkan menurut ade gue, ada bapak-bapak yang saking ngga sabarnya sampe turun dari mobilnya dan dengan marah teriak kenceng ke kita!

Gue ngga habis pikir bangetttt!!! Masalahnya di sini: ibu-ibu tua pake baju rapih, rok panjang, sepatu hak, dorong mobil sebesar dan seberat HILINE sambil terus-menerus diklakson dan diteriakin tanpa 1 orangpun berniat ngasih pertolongan!

Dengan usaha keras para ibu-ibu, akhirnya mobil kita berhasil didorong ke tepi jalan. Dan langsung semua mobil yang di belakang kita tancap gas ngelewatin.

Kalo hanya sekedar ngga mau nolong oke dech… Gue terpaksa ngerti betapa masyarakat kita sekarang udah individualis banget. Tapi kok tega teriak dan nglakson ibu-ibu tua di siang hari yang panas dengan tiada henti??!!  GILA… GILA… GILA…
